Taking Stock

So Pip from Meet me at Mikes wrote a post recently about what was currently happening in her life, as did Kayte from Woogs World. And, I thought I'd get on the band wagon and fill you all lovely people in on what's happening in my corner.

It's like having a deep and meaningful with me, but culled down to five minutes.

So, let's do it!

Me

Making : Headway with driving a big car. You see, we recently sold my zippy Mazda 3 to help with our renovation funds and I now drive the "beast" aka Steves baby - The Patrol. I reversed into a teeny tiny car park today for Jacks paediatrician appointment. It took 7 goes to get into the spot, but I did it! (Thank you reverse camera and parking sensors!)

Mama's driving the big car! They looked a bit scared, don't they??

Patrol

Cooking : More and more. Which that shit is a serious "high 5" to me. As I would rather clean toilets than cook. I am very slowly, slowly starting to enjoy it.

Drinking : Too much wine! I joined Dan Murphy's loyalty team the other week. Me and Sav Blanc have developed a relationship this summer.

Reading: Bills and emails, but wishing that it was for pleasure. I miss curling up with a book and getting into a great story.

Wanting: A four day working week - I can dream can't I?

Looking: Forward to renovations being over at our place soon! Ok, not that soon but only one main room left- the Kitchen! (It has been 6 years in the making)

PlayingSia's latest song every morning

Wasting: Time always on Facebook! I love it, I so do! I do, I do, I do!

Sewing: Really? I threw out my iron about 10 years ago and sewing? Well, I leave that in Steves capable hands.

Wishing: For my next trip to Bali to hurry up! (19 weeks to go, but who's counting!) read all about my last adventure to my favourite place here

Enjoying: Summer nights, late evening sunsets, sitting on my deck with the radio playing classic 70's and 80's music.

Waiting: For my delivery from Pretty Fkn Embroidery

Liking: Pinterest! Seriously I could spend hours on there.

Wondering: Whether you knew this word...it is one of my most favourite smells in the whole world:

Unnamed

Loving: Life! It sounds so corny but I really, really do!

Hoping: That the Melbourne weather sorts itself out quick smart. Last week ugg boots, this week 35 degrees!

Marvelling: At my babies every single day! And how time seems to go by so quickly.

Needing: Serious help with Twitter. I just don't get it.

Smelling: Candles and aromatherapy in my home every day. Ylang Ylang and Lavendar are my go to oils to burn that i adore.

Wearing: Sandles, Long skirt and singlet. Thank you Melbourne for bringing the summer back this week!

Following: The latest season of The Block on channel 9. I'm still convinced that we would be brilliant entertainment as contestants!

Noticing: My tolerance for drama is very low.

Knowing: That I really don't know much, but what I do know,I strongly believe in.

Thinking: That if everyone just did a little bit of the below - the world would be a nicer place.

Feeling: Loved.

Bookmarking: Date nights - or thinking of bookmarking them. I'll bookmark time to actually bookmark the date nights.

Opening: My emails and I see a notification letting me know someone commented on my blog posts - MAKES MY DAY!

Giggling: At the fact that I only just recently got why the store "Target" is called Target. You see the logo? It's a Target! I know, me too! Is it really just me that didn't get it? Really?

Feeling: Happy I got through this list. Looked simple enough at first but it gets you thinking.

What gets you going? Make you tick? I'd love to know.oxox

I had a hysterectomy at 37 years of age

This coming Wednesday will mark four weeks since my hysterectomy. It has been a long journey coming – this hysterectomy and with all the ailments that I had experienced over the last 20 years, including low grade cervical cancer, I could not have been happier seeing my uterus ripped out and put in the bin. That said, I am grateful that these organs allowed me to birth my two sons. They are the joys and absolute headaches of my life. I would (like most mothers I am sure) take a bullet for them and they always know that sanctuary of any sort will always be home for them. But a hysterectomy at 37 you say? Yes, I do admit that Google will tell you that this surgery is quite early in my life, but after two decades of agony, constant pain, bloating to the size of looking like I am six months pregnant and the fact that I had finished have all the children that I desired, it really was a no brainer. We live in rural Victoria. Our main town, Mildura has a hospital, and I was aware that give

20 meal ideas for those that hate cooking

It's quite ironic that I decided a few weeks ago to ease myself into the fad of meal planning. I was so sick of thinking of ideas of meals of what to make and Steve was no help as when i asked him,"what you want for dinner?" his answer was always" whatever you want". Grrrrrrrrrrr - uncommitted. So one afternoon with a cup of some alcoholic description, i went into my think tank which is my brain, and wrote down my repertoire of meals that i know how to make.  Now this will look different for every household. After scribbling away for some minutes, I realised that i actually can make quite a variety of meals quite well, without poisoning the family.  Before #IsoLyf took over, I had been quite a fan of click and collect either from Woolies or Coles when we lived in Melbourne. For whatever reason I stopped doing it since our tree-change to the farm which was quite silly as we now lived out of the main hub of Sunraysia and click and collect would have definitel

Is it Saturday or Sunday?

It is just before 6am as I sit here on my back porch watching the sun slowly rise for another day. What day is it? #isolyf has got me all confused to the day, date and month. With so many of us wishing and wanting “more time”, I have found myself getting bored of being bored and the motivation bug seems to come in slower and less frequently. How the world has changed in the unprecedented times, hey? It seems that here in #straya, we have quickly adapted to the powers that be and in the matter of weeks have become accustomed to the lack of interaction and movement. Does that concern you? How quickly we have been able to conform? I had to delete Facebook off my phone a few weeks ago as I was constantly checking #scomo and Googling “coronavirus” every other minute. The information overload brought on confusion as well as fear and I was working around feeling like doomsday was coming. The best thing that I did was switch off. The establishment news was only regurgitating stupidity on a
